Three Recommendations and References
Participants must complete and submit an application by July 1st in order to be awarded the FACP Designation at the fall FACP Annual Meeting in September. Interested applicants are required to have a minimum of 12 points to apply. The application requires the submission of documentation of professional activities. Upon FACP receipt of the application, the applicant will be subject to a reference check. The reference check is intended to assure that the applicant is highly regarded by the chamber(s) he/she has served. References will only be notified that the applicant plans to pursue the designation. As part of the process, the applicant must also include a signed Code of Ethics with the application.
Step #3: Write a 500 Word Essay on a Chamber topic to demonstrate the applicant's knowledge of chambers, a specific subject, and their experience. The essay should be based on one of the core chamber management areas: management, planning and development, membership and communications, operations, or finance. The FACP Certification Judges will review the essay for content as well as grammar. Two of the three committee members reviewing the essay must pass the candidate with a minimum 70% score.
Step #4: Formally Receive the FCCP Designation
